Won’t You Take Me To. . . Carpet Town . .

19 Aug

OK, so not carpet town, but we did decide to replace the carpet in the kitchen with ceramic tile. It feels like we’ve been tiling for weeks now, and it’s only been two days.  We’re pretty much done now, we need to cut about 10 more tiles and then grout and seal and we’ll be finished.  I’ll post pictures once we’re done so you can see the progression.

Here’s the nice carpet that was in the kitchen .

This is me ripping up the carpet .

Justin and I ripping up the sub-floor that needed to be replaced .

Here’s the first three rows of tile .

Here’s most of the tiles down .

This is the all of the tile down, sans the grout .

This is with the grout on, and the super awesome haze on the tiles that takes FOREVER to get off .

B-)

UPDATE:

So here are the pictures of the finished product.  We still have a few things to do like replace the registers and molding,  but it’s done.

Here’s looking from the living room .

. . and this one’s from the oven .

Congratulations Brendon. I’m very happy that you got a place of your own now.
The house looks beautiful. I’ve missed your comical sense of humor! You,ve got to stay in touch. By the way, what town or village is your house situated in?
I should mention, I’ve become quite a pro with the “Mac”!!!!! I’ll be at Terri’s retirement party on the 14th.Bye for now, Hermina
